富岡八幡宮例大祭などの慌ただしい1週間
8月10日（金） 神輿組み立てなど。
8月11日（土） 東松戸で取材。午後、子供神輿に参加。町内に子供神輿渡御に合わせ、トラロープを持ったり、子供神輿を少し担ぐ。トラロープとは、黄色と黒のシマシマのロープで、子供神輿の一行の横について大人数人でロープを持ち、子供たちが隣の車線に出たりしないよう（車線を走る車に気をつけながら）安全に配慮した。
8月12日（日） 富岡八幡宮例大祭。町会の青年部の一員という立場だったが、私は初参加だったので、人の手伝いができるほどの余裕はほとんどなかった。神輿を担ぐのに必要な人数は、実際に数えたら最低50人ほど。ずっと同じ人が担ぐのは重すぎて無理ということもあり、この町会だけで500人ほどの人が参加していたのではないだろうか。水掛け祭りともいわれるこの祭り、当然、何度も水をかけられたが、消防の放水ホースからだろうか。ものすごい水圧の水を頭から大量に浴びながら、何度も目の前に虹が現れたことに驚く。私には、虹祭りにも思えた。クライマックス、永代橋を渡り、門前仲町の交差点の少し手前、澁澤シティプレイス永代の前に神輿が通りがかったとき、少し降っていた雨も完全に止み、澄んだ青空をバックに、力強い福住太鼓が鳴り響く。水を掛けながら、神輿越しに見たあの太鼓の格好よさ、豪快さ、美しさ、もっとも心を打たれた場面だった。雄々しい太鼓の音色のせいか、ここ深川は武田信玄ゆかりの甲斐の国ではないのに、なぜか「風林火山」という言葉が脳裏で踊った。
夜、岡山から上京した鈴木恒寛さんから連絡があり、めったにない機会だからと、清澄白河のカフェで2時間ほど談笑する。
8月13日（月） 神輿解体・子供神輿解体・町会会館前の掃除など。
8月14日（火） カメラマンの荻原さんと門前仲町で打合せ。
8月15日（水）・16日（木） 昨日と今日は何をしていたかな。息子と1対1のミニサッカーをしたり、公園の子供の遊具のところにある、ちょうど9マスあるロープを的にして、野球のストラックアウトのように、サッカーボールを蹴る遊びをしたり、図書館で息子に絵本の読み聞かせしたり、アブラゼミをつかまえたりした。息子が所属しているサッカーチームの新聞も作成した。
